Leaf Solutions has offered print design services to the Government of Yukon since our inception by way of a Standing Offer Agreement. As well, we have designed ads for private sector clients and in support of our conference coordination division. Following are a few samples.
The Recycling Club promotes recycling to youth
– participants collect points by which they can redeem prizes
offered by local vendors. This booklet is the prize catalogue
that kids refer to. LS has designed the catalogue for several years. Each year the colours and prizes change.
Print advertising used the same design elements for consistent branding.
We designed brochures for the Child Advocacy for 2 different target audiences (Youth & Adults). To reduce costs the overall design of the brochures followed a similar layout. To set them apart, different colour scheme and photos which depicted the target audiences were used. The logo was; provided and used as a design element and provided consistent branding on both brochures.

This ad campaign featured 5 messages on wildlife preservation and human safety.
Team-building Tour - Poster
Leaf Solutions and Muktuk Adventures required a Poster to promote their team-building, dog-mushing tour at the Yukon made Products and Services Tradeshow held in Edmonton Alberta.
The design incorporated photographs that depicted the Yukon landscape, the team-building tour guide, Yukon Quest Veteran, Frank Turner, and of course the dogs (in action). The Header text incorporated graphic elements (dog tracks) that were utilized throughout the poster to pull-together the design and text elements.
LS Conference Yellow Page Ad is a simple, clean design that combines an eye catching, nature type image with a strong and well-developed graphic language. The font used is Futura, which is a practical, commercially viable typeface. The color green is a symbolic and helps to emulate the feeling of nature, stability and a fresh,
flexible approach.
This series of poster was to help promote success through post secondary education. Five people with different careers were profiled to let youth know the sky is the limit if you stay in school.
This
brochure and poster were designed to inform First Nations
individuals and families of support services available to them
with regard to dispute resolutions, access to counseling etc.
for residential school victims.
The design incorporated graphic elements to depict Yukon “wolf”
and “crow” clans within a healing circle – the footprints
graphically accentuated the “take a step” message. The poster
was reproduced in full colour while the brochure was printed 2
colours.

Leaf Solutions just completed the design of eight handbooks for
the 2007 Winter Games. A generic design was developed for all
handbooks to promote brand awareness and reduce costs. Different

The design incorporated royalty free stock images, which proved to be very impacting.

The “Office Whisperer” Illustration was a retirement gift for a receptionist who kept all that worked with her amused with her distinct qualities and quirks. We used a “comic book” style illustration to depict her common expressions and gestures in three different “comic style” frames. The “office Whisperer” header represented the “whispering” she did regularly and pulled the concept together graphically.
LS was asked to design a poster which featured an illustration of a “generic building” and incorporated the Nacho Nyak Dun First Nation logo. The Poster was to be used as a display at a meeting to generate public comment on a legacy project for the region.

LS designed the website and content management system for the Yukon Curling Association Website. It incorporates banners with a variety of images which represent the sport and alternate. It incorporates a calendar of events, news and results application.
The new YWITT website challenge was incorporate a
eye-catching design which represented the organization within
tight budget constraints. Our approach was to incorporate
images in the header that depict women in various trades within
a “template design”. The template although somewhat limiting in
terms of placement of design elements, was the most cost
effective approach. Within these limitations we have come up
with a clean design that professionally represents YWITT.
Included in this contract was training so that our client can
update text and photo elements themselves thereby decreasing
maintenance costs.
Leaf Solutions worked with the client in developing this complete online ecommerce solution.
This site incorporates a full shopping cart as well as FLASH elements.

LS designed the website and is currently providing content management services, on-line abstract submissions and registration services. The overall design in terms placement of navigational elements and content followed that of previous years. The website showcases photos of Yukon wildlife in a way which
clearly communicates the message and ultimately maximizes
registration for the symposium. Leaf Solutions was hired to
coordinate this event including design of the website, poster,
print ads, rolling ad and radio spot production as well as all
on-site logistics. The overall objective being to peak public
interest, maximize attendance and feedback at the symposium.
Further, the website was to provide a means by which Yukoners
who could not participate in the symposium can comment. As
such a “Public Discussion Document” and on-line comments form is being
developed and will be uploaded to the site mid-November.
All other print material incorporates design elements of the
website as a means of reinforcing the message. Print ads
incorporate different questions throughout the campaign as a
means of causing the reader to think and comment. Radio spots
feature personal “invites” by Yukon Fish & Wildlife Members to
participate. As well, youth spots feature youth “thoughts” to
peak the interest and promote involvement of youth in the
comments process.
In support of our conference coordination and registrar services LS designed the website and on-line registration forms for the 17th National Learning Disabilities Conference. We are also offering post-conference tours via our Incentive Travel division. The website was to visually represent the conference goal: to provide information that will assist parents and professionals to better support individuals (of all ages) who have learning disabilities. As well, the site was to represent our territory and provide comprehensive information. The result is a beautiful site which visually communicates the goals/objectives of the conference without sacrificing content and navigation.
